As an honoree I chose to volunteer to help make this great event a success each year. My role is to design the annual brochure for the event. We took it from the usual church bulletin size publication to a publication with fun engaging features.

NMTC connects the more successful technology companies in the region, energetic growing enterprises, government and federal leaders, and academic professionals into a collective force to accelerate economic growth, build our STEM-educated workforce, and protect national security, by driving technology and innovation in Maryland. We are Maryland’s fastest growing technology council with more than 200 members, advocates, and supporters providing access to technology, industry, academic, and government leaders in Harford, Cecil, and Baltimore Counties. Established in 1991 and launched in 1992, NMTC connects members’ companies, organizations, and members to their peers and influential decision makers through organized networking, informative workshops, technology and STEM workforce summits, and idea-inspiring collaborative initiatives.
Visionary Awards Program
The NMTC Visionary Awards, celebrates our neighbors, colleagues, family, and friends for their volunteer efforts that contribute to building a STEM-educated workforce and advancing technology & innovation. The combination of the two provide rewarding careers for our children, expands our regional economy and protects our national security. This evening gala honors those individuals.
2023: What Now?
This year we ask the question: Where to now? We survived COVID and this process changed the process of work profoundly. What's next?

2021: Unprecedented
The word of the year in 2020 is "unprecedented." And it was a year of unprecedented changes including our event which will be done entirely online this year.

2020: Get Anaglyphic
As part of the endless stream of 2020 ad mottos we added our own: "The Future in Focus." We then used anaglyphs (red/blue images) to create 3D images and hidden messages for the quotes included on many pages. The attendees were given a pair of glasses needed to find the clues and qualify for a $100 cash prize.

2019: STEM Illustrated
We used a sports theme and gave every attendee a deck of trading cards of one person. They had to trade with others to get a full set to qualify for the drawing for a prize. It was great fun.

2018: STEM Stories with Coloring Book Center Fold
To engage the attendees we hired a commercial illustrator to draw a likeness of each awardee and speaker and also placed bowls of crayons on each table. Attendees were invited to color in the picture and we then have cash awards to the best coloring projects.
